Hi, gals/guys. My female friend, she has an acne problem now, she didn't have it before when she was in high school but just recently. And she wants to try different things to get rid of them before seeing a dermatologist, she wants to not use medication if possible. I don't have an acne problem or have ever had a problem with it so I don't have any experience in dealing with this. Does anybody here have any tips or something to share? I would really much appreciate it. -worship

Haha, you'll know all about acne once you hit puberty, or hear about it from your friend, at least, if you're lucky :D

Glad you like it, haven't updated it in ages, though. I lost the password so an update is pretty much out of the question : ]

    my solution

i never really had a problem with acne, but i have had times where i did break out....but i found some good and really inexpensive rememdies that worked ALL the time.

    1. drink MORE water(your body is dehydrated and the food you eat has lots of toxins in it, and if you dont drink enough water...it cant cleanse the body)

    2. WORK OUT (this can help sweat and cleanse your body of toxins)

    3. Dont wash your face with a facial cleansing scrub everyday(irritates the skin and causes breakouts)

    4. SLEEP more (Relieves stress, which also causes breakouts)

Seriously though i know for a fact that number #1 and #2 work the best. After i started drinking more water and working out more...i noticed that my skin was a Bzillion times better. hope that helps your friend-chef

hmm, is your friend going through a lot of stress?

anyways, i was actually told to wash my face daily><
since my mom use to give people facials, i listened to her.

so i don't know.i've been too lazy to wash it daily though.

You'll learn about it school : ] Some people hit puberty later than others, but girls tend to go through puberty earlier than boys, maybe that's why they're more mature than us? haha j/k

Thanks for the tips. I did some research and found that your tips are similar to what others have posted elsewhere. At the bottom of this post is three links that appear to be helpful, posted for your viewing pleasure.

Working out, huh? That seems interesting, I'll pass it to my friend. Thanks : )

KitYing, you're too lazy to wash your face daily? haha I'm not sure if she is going through a lot of stress but she stays up reallyyy late. Maybe I should keep on bothering her about it, maybe then she'll sleep a little earlier : )

she prob has late onset acne...she cud try topical antibiotics off the counter if its just a few spots..see if it clears..
make sure she keeps her face well moisturised cuz can be drying.
if rele cant then need to go to gp or somehting n try next step wic is prob gona be oral antibiotics course for a few weeks and topical cream wic is extremely drying..
then later it will be other stuff but those are for severe acne..
shd be ok after a while...acne can get better

If you have severe acne , eating healthy and washing your face won't help.
I had the worst case of acne although it was only limited to the face it was terrible.
Don't take advice from people who don't know what they are talking about .
Although anyone could advice you about antibiotics and onitments , you need a doctor to warn you about the side effects , which although rare could be very unpleasant.

If the problem isn't series over the counter stuff should work (Clarisil, Biore)...

My problem was a bit more serious, so I am using Neostrata (cleared up my face a lot!)

The dermatologist will recommend prescriptive creams and probably Accutane. Accutane is Vit A and it works by permanently sealing off oil glands. During this medication if pregnant, your baby is guaranteed to be deformed; it's really strong stuff! Also, hair will fall off and people get very dry skin (my roommate was on it).

I was offered Accutane, but too scared to take it...as I got older my skin got a bit better...

You have to treat your body first before putting on all that chemical. For instance, find out what makes you break out. Chocolate, soda, fried food, etc. Cut all those out and cleanse your system by drinking alot of water. I use to drink a gallon a day but I'm not recommending it since one lady died on the news by drinking alot of water. So drink at your own pace. Working out helps too. Getting your heart rate up and sweating cleans your pores. After all that and it still doesn't work then consult a dermatologist.
